Lopburi

today from Ayutthaya we went to lopburi for the day and back for the night. it was about an hour on the train. the trains are fine but old and the doors stay open while it is moving. at each stop women get on to sell food. very strange things some of which we can not identify and don't look so great. one woman had a basket of whole dried fish. it was early in the morning, i don't know why anyone would think it looked good to eat.
Lopburi is known for their monkey's. it was crazy, the monkey's were swinging from electric lines and running all around the sidewalks. an intersection stopped for the train and monkey's started jumping around on the cars. getting into a pickup truck, on top of a bus. it was not what i expected to see. the book made it sound like the monkey's were just in the temple areas.

ayutthaya has been nice. nice hostel and lots of good food in the area. last night we had a huge dinner. 3 side dishes, 3 main dishes, beer and dessert for $8 each. and that was a more expensive place. tomorrow we are going north on the train to Sukhothai. i guess it takes around 5 hours.

here i posted some pictures from ayutthaya and lopburi...
