Old Sukhothai

yesterday we visited old sukhothai. it's a large area of ruins with no modern construction around. i enjoyed it a bit more more than the ruins in ayutthaya because it was very quiet and there was a lot of park area so you could get a better feeling of what it may have looked like when they were originally built. we rented bikes to get from temple to temple. here are a few pics from yesterday and a couple of a little girl on the train to sukhothai.

for mom and matt... here are a few more monkey pics. unfortunately the monkey dinner is only once a year. and my pics are not so great because i was more concerned about having a monkey jump on me than getting pictures. we heard that the day before we were there two tourists were attacked by monkeys. they were probably trying to feed them or something.
sorry the pics are sideways, i can't rotate them.

tonight we leave for chiang mai. today we are just relaxing. we are a bit tired of thai food and there are not too many other choices right now. though we have one oasis... 7/11. there is probably a 7/11 on every corner.

Thanks Steph! yeah, i was disapointed not to get more pictures of monkey's but they were kind of frightening running around the sidewalks.
Take care! Jeannie
