Leaving Hanoi

I have not been able to write much since being in the north. We have had bad luck with internet. I have some catching up to do and I will try in the next few days. We leave for Laos in about 15 minutes. We are not looking forward to another long bus ride. Hopefully it will go by quickly!

Yesterday we returned from Sa Pa in the early morning. We only spent one night there and two days. We took a night train there and back. We wished we could have stayed longer but we didn't plan it very well. Our visa is up tomorrow so we have to leave. Sa Pa was beautiful but we had bad weather. It was so foggy we could hardly see the town. We got lost trying to find our hotel. We couldn't see the surrounding mountains. But at least we were able to take two nice hikes and get away from the fog.

Before Sa Pa we went to Halong Bay. Two nights three days. It was also extremely foggy so we couldn't see much. Our last day it cleared up a bit and we could see more and it was really beautiful. Sadly our tour was terrible!! Absolutely terrible!!! I'll have to write about it later. It's a long story.

Hi Jeanne,
Good to hear from you again. I get worried when you don't blog.
Sorry to hear you did not have a good tour up in Hanoi. I hope you got to see some things that were enjoyable and had some time there that was fun.
I hope Jose's cold is better.
Remember to stay aware in Laos. I don't know much about that country.
We are at Mike and Andrea's now and will go up to Breckenridge on Monday.Nancy and Rich should be up there by now. They were leaving after school on Friday. I think that I told you we rented the same place we had on Thanksgiving after Audrey was born. It was cheaper than a place we were going to rent in downtown Breckenridge that was smaller. I guess we only have to worry that the road is plowed and we can drive to the house.
I brought Grandma to get a hip injection of cortisone on Wed and I hope it works because she was not walking too well.
I hope you can find a good connection soon so we can get some details and pictures.
Everyone says hello.
I was showing Audrey some of the pictures of you earlier and she kept asking me lots of questions about where you are. She is very articulate.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Love You,
Mom

Oh yeah, Jose's cold is gone.
I wish I could be in Breckenridge too but it's pretty cool to be here too.
I'll have to hear Audrey on skype sometime.
