Andrea, I hope you got some sleep! My mom wrote about how active Charlie is now, that he can really get around.
There is no way we can go back to reality after this. Reality is just no fun.
Today we got up early (8:30) and took a boat (60 baht each; around $2) to Railay Beach. It was beautiful and the water was amazing! It's the low season now so there are not so many people and the prices of everything are a little lower than normal.
We got dropped off at West Railay. It's on a peninsula and you can walk across to the east side, East Railay. It's only about a 5 minute walk. It's really so hot here that during the day you have to be in the water. When we got back from the beach dark clouds started to roll in. It didn't rain much but last night just after sunset it rained pretty hard. It felt good, it helped to cool down the air.
Tomorrow we are going to take it easy... Wait a minute. I know that doesn't sound right, but too much sun can be very exhausting.
This blog was originally created for my travels through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Burma in 2007. A few months after the trip, during the September protests in Burma, I decided to continue with it to better educate myself and help in the spread of information about Burma, in which there has not been enough. Your comment about the rain shower cooling off the air really brings back memories. Just like home!
If you get caught in one of these showers and get wet, it's really not that big a deal (unless your appearance is important...). You aren't cold and will dry off pretty quickly.

Yeah I know, the clock is ticking too fast!!
We don't have an umbrella anyway. And as far as our appearance... well, everything we have is dirty anyway so a little rain can only help our situation.
Charlie seems to be liking sleep a little bit better... but I don't want to jinx it. I'm hoping for explanations for two of Jose's pictures. Why are you hanging off of a tank? And is that picture of the ant real?? if so, what kind of camera does that man have?!
We are home now. Got here last night around 6pm. We had great weather in Louisville. In the high 60's and 70's. It snowed while we were in the mountains and down in louisville too about 6 inched on Wed but it all melted.
Got back home to another round of winter. It has been below freezing but is supposed to get better. When we left it was very nice out, Everything is green.
I just downloaded some pictures to shutterfly to send to Andrea. I will send the link to your email so you can view the album. Lots of pictures though. Don't have to delete anything. You can enlarge and go through fast.
